that heart shaped leaf is a giant woodland violet, I have them every where, I cut the leaves up in salads, they are first to bloom every spring, I use them for root cooling on other things, I catch the seed pods when I can before they pop open like an impatien and throw seeds out a zillion at a time with a loud snap.
I have 4 kinds, I am looking for yellow ones now..
Today before the swim party, I got to do some cutting for seeds, and here is a few I have bagged up.. there are two other colours of Monarda, not shown here.. I am getting ready to dry and store seeds for when someone wants some..
