beadmom wrote: I was cruising down hwy 219 between Newberg and St. Paul when I saw a sign......Heirloom Roses next right 2 3/4 miles. Well. that's as good or better than "YARD SALE" so I turned. I wound around and around and every time I saw roses in someone's yard I thought..Oh is that it? Did I miss it? Then I came around another curve and my breath left me. Roses....EVERYWHERE...on both sides of the road. Little white fences with gardens and then a big parking lot with pathways to more gardens. Like a Disneyland of ROSES. But it was 6:00pm and they were CLOSED. Like McArthur I vowed to return. Bright and early the next morning while I was supposed to be heading on a 2 hour drive back to ......work..... I de-toured. That left me only a miniscule 1/2 hour to tour the gardens AND shop. I toughed it out and did what I could. I highly recommend you take several hours and do the thing right. I plan to go back. Here's the info. http://www.heirloomroses.com I will post the pictures I got now. The first is the front of the store area from the big parking lot across the street. Ginger |
