Thanks, everyone. This year I was fortunate in that I came across both a Downy Woodpecker nesting site and the Red-bellied Woodpecker nesting tree. Actually, the latter is in a dead tree at the edge of a marsh. I've taken lots of photos of the parents coming and going, with Blackberries, to feed the young. The morning sun was perfect for the Red-bellied WP photos. I was hoping to get back to see the young but they're probably gone by now. When I first spotted the hole, I thought no way can a Red-bellied WP get in there, but they did. And, actually disappear within.
