One can find driftwood like this on the beach, but bigger pieces are rare. You need to look in a more natural area, like where there are still trees and natural dunes. Most of the coast in my state is too developed, but there are a few places that haven't been, and that is where I look. The pieces I have are thin, though. Nothing big and chunky that you could make into something like a fairy house...here is a pic of a great piece I found in Cape May, I hang my smaller plants from it, though I had to take most off so that you could see it in the photo.
