I just cannot keep up with you guys in warm weather (esp after being laid off and I'm not on the computer all day). But I have been thinking of you guys!

Cardinals had a nest on the north side of the house, little ones fledged a week or so ago.

Robins are nesting on the south side of the house. Babies hatched last week. Parents this week have taken up shooing anything under the feeder or on the patio, including birds like mourning doves and even the chipmunks. I think it is because of post-partum hormones (ba Da bum).

I hear Great Crested Flycatchers all the time, every year. Never knew what they were until one landed. This is a shot from their second known visit, before the robin shooed it away.

I'm SO happy they're visiting the yard, and that I've had at least 2 nests (first time I've had nesting; chickadees have been going in and out of birdhouse so we'll see how that goes). I've been trying to make my backyard wildlife friendly and it is finally coming together - yay!
