Your yard is just STUNNING with that stucco wall for the back drop! Those are some type of Shasta but there are so many varieties and heights of them now. I have switched out all my daisies to the "Becky Daisy". They do not break over in the wind. They just bob around and stay upright. LOVE THEM. I actually love all daisies!

I also have a few daylillies that are due to bloom IF I can keep the deer from munching them in bud! Grrrrrrrrrrr As soon as we get the picket fence up (in the next month...I hope I hope).. then I can start with my climbers.

Thanks on the orchids. Just go for Phalaenopis (Moth orchids). They are house orchids, and grow/bloom very easily. The like the temps you like, and I heat with wood in the winter. They just managed to survive and thrive. I used to have fussy orchids too, but they drove me nuts...and died easily. I don't have a green house to pamper them in and they weren't happy.

Ok...this is my funny. I decided to be practical this year and planted "window box" tomatoes in my window boxes...LOL They are already setting flower blooms. I figure once the marigolds bush out it will be a conversation starter for sure...LOLOL
