So far most of the information I've found on them tells me to give up :S But I grab a packages of these seeds before I knew anything because I thought they were pretty and darn it all I'm going to try!

I started the late (End April?) because I forgot (oops), but they are out in the garden now and about 1" to 2". Unfortunately because of an incident involving the cat knocking over the pots (part of the reason I gave up and put them out) there are only 5 plants. I placed 4 in an area that is shaded most of the day, under some pine trees; I figured this gave them the best opportunity at acidic soil. They are also quite close to the drain for our sump pump (note: sump pump is just water) we have a dug basement so we get allot of water & I also read they aren't supposed to dry out completely? So I figured that was another tick for them living. The other plant I plopped somewhere else in the garden that is shaded - it was pretty small so I figured I might as well see if it could survive there in case my first ones didn't.

Anyone want to give me some odds? or suggest something else I could do to help these little guys along (total newbie gardener, this is my second year with my own gardens and last year I had a baby so didn't get much done :D)

I believe we are zone 4A (it gets pretty cold in the winter), but we're well into spring and getting temps above 10C even at night.
