Shirley was called of today..We worked in garden..Wraping bottom 30" of tomato cages with shrink wrap type plastic.. Keeps wind of young plants..Also keeps tomato branches in cage till they get up higher..Cages are 2' diameter 5' high.."concrete reinforcing wire"
Cage sits inside plastic circle 8" high 24" Dia. "cut from plastic 55 gallon barrels
Circle is buried 4" in ground..Easy to water.. No water wasted on weeds..Cage is held in place with steel fence post....Keeps tomato's of the ground, lets air flow through..Easier to pick..Very little bending over

The wind has been blowing like crazy.out of the south the past 3 days..Today out of north northeast..Trees & buildings helped slow it some...Had one cage get blown over 4' fence & take off across the bean field..Should of seen the dogs..LOL They didn't see it right away ..When they did they all took off barking & chasing it..Me too in the Durango..

Sweet corn is up 2"+ Time to plant another batch..Baby corn is starting to come up..
We have never tried baby corn..We will see...

Bush beans up 2"+ Peas Up 8" or 10" Acorn squash up 6"+ Sweet potato's up 5"
Just 4 plants..Never tried these before..Beets up 5"..Onion's & radish's we have been eating
