Before the rain started tonight I got a picture of this Red-Banded Hairstreak. That reminds me that I need to go look for cats under my oak tree this weekend.

I was also looking for peppergrass for the whites and was searching through the weeds between my neighbor's house and the road. His side is full sun and my side is shaded by oaks so we tend to get different weeds. Instead, I found lots of little brown caterpillars on some kind of weed. I have all my books out and will thoroughly research what they are and what they were eating. I brought them inside to raise so at the very least I'll find out when they become whatever they're going to become. Look forward to it!
