Wha, I admire your garden beds as they have such great architectural form and you have taken such care in selecting the right plants for each. Mine are a jumble. I need to practice what you do and be more selective. Doubt that will happen, but I can dream about it. It is foggy and damp here this morning. I was hoping to have another stellar day like yesterday afternoon. No excuse this morning to avoid house work. drat! Boojum and Jo-Ann, I am glad you like them. I am a big fan. In the past I have bought many reticulated iris on sale from Eflower, Brent and Becky, Van Engelen, Touch of Nature, Scheeper, Coops, and Mcclure. However, I will get any new ones that I don't already have from those folks at any price or from anyone else who has one that I don't already have. The only one that has not returned is one called Natascha, which was kind of a washed out nearly white one, but I may try it again. They come up so early which is another big plus for me. I need color as soon as I can get it. I am starting to get things besides bulbs blooming. Here is a dicentra Alba that is always a favorite. Hosta are erupting, except for the ones the deer mowed down the other night. But most of our hosta have been planted inside the fenced area, so they are all fine. I have to have some hosta out by the stream and about now the deer usually leave them alone until the fall. DH sprayed again yesterday after the damage was done. They will come back. Patti |
