Luvs, your Rose-breasted Grosbeak, we had one here years ago and I really scrambled to ID it. Haven't seen one since. Pell, The Pileated is really something to see. They are pretty large and watching them move from tree to tree in the hedge row is fun. I don't think they fully open their wings, kind of like waving your arms with them bent at the elbow. LOL Mrs_Ed, Your bathing shots are so cute. Here is a little unintential bathing shot. When I first went out to fill the feeders I saw this little guy sitting down in the pond on the root-ball with the frogs. Looked like he fell in, sitting there all wet and tired looking. I ran for the camera and when I came back he was up on the ledge. Still looking a bit rough. Didn't even move when I laid some seed at his feet. Then in just a few minutes before I even finished filling the feeders he was up at the thistle sock. Poor thing had a rough morning. |
