On the last thread, someone asked about Indigo Buntings and what you could plant for them to eat. I think. Maybe I imagined it. Anyway, I had a Painted Bunting in my yard two years ago that ate ajuga seeds for about an hour, and last weekend at the river, the Indigo Buntings were also feasting on wild ajuga seeds. I love ajuga and I'm planting more of it!

Well, I finally broke down and bought a new feeder just for the little birds. Then this pair of Red-headed Woodpeckers showed up this morning and one of them tried to eat from the little bird feeder and couldn't. Neither tried the big bird feeder and then they left. I was so bummed. It's the first time that I've had red-headed wp in the yard in two years.
