As if finding out that my white goose "Chiffon" from white parents produced saddlebacks (she carrys a sb gene previously unknown to us) when bred to
my saddleback gander "Chaps" wasn't enough...I also was blessed with 2
(so far) solid grey gosling out of her.
Needless to say I'm VERY excited!
Interesting is the fact that I had no intentions of breeding Chiffon to my new saddleback gander but he fell in love with her before I separated my geese
for the breeding season.
He would pine away for her when they were put up for the night in separate
stalls so I finally just gave her to him. He's obsessed with her.
He breeds the saddleback goose he came with but basically ignores her
and never leaves Chiffon's side.
I've never seen anything like it.
Isn't it a wonder how things happen?
I could of missed out on all this had I ignored his cues that this was the
goose for him.

Here's Chaps x Chiffons saddleback kids (2 larger ones)
Small SB goslings is from Chaps x Cherie Pie
