The wind blows all the time here. I found six hummers in the gh when I went out to look for olympic swimmers in the pool (frogs/toads NOT gophers!) first thing this morning. It was a gray may kind of day, with a gentle breeze blowing. I've been leaving the door open a couple of inches so they can shelter in there. I was pretty surprised to see so many in the same place at once. They seem to use both feeders equally, and the wind gets pretty strong every afternoon, especially in the summer time. Been known to blow all the "nectar" out of the feeder. Which is why I quit using them and started to plant B.fly and H.bird food plants.
The female I've been referring to as Zippy. I think she is a female black chin hummer. What say you?
