As for the Almond tree, I inherited it with the house. Last year I tried to ID it here on DG without much luck. No one seems to have ever seen one with such dark flowers. The blooms are about 2 or 2 1/2 inches across. I know it's definitely an Almond. There is only one in the yard but it does produce nuts. It is really beautiful. Here is the Almond
