Dear Sam,(dad) has now stop drinking,yippee good for him.But he still has the same personality.But one thing his drinking did, was made me a stronger person,momma calls it a hard person,I take no b---sh-t.I'll tell anybody,I can be the very nicest giving person you could ever meet,or I can be your worse nightmare(not really the right word ,but I'm not allowed to cuss),you decide.My momma is the softest ,easiest ,most loving person,always giving the benefit of the doubt person.I told Rick when we got married I'm giving you a rope,and what you decide to do with that rope is your own choice.You can make a nice pretty bow or you can make a noose.There was one time early in our marriage he made a noose,but everyone is entitled to one misstake,and we can forgive the misstake but never forget.Once a misstake is forgotten it has potential to repeat.Since then he has made beautiful bows!And Rick has never been a drinker,I refused to relive my mommas life.
I look at it this way ,once we are adults,whether we lived in a disfunctional home or not we know right from wrong and we have choices,to take Gods road or the Devils.And you cannot tell me that people that do wrong and evil things has no idea what they are doing and how it can or well hurt someone else Or themselves.I'm all for helping someone who has been led astray,but a line has to be drawn.When it starts to affect your own well being it's time to quit,and say Lord ,I tried to do the best that I can,now it has to be between you and them.
