I posted a zoom of this image over on the vegetable forum for opinions, but I'm hoping that it wasn't killed. I'm not a botanist, but I think that the whitish line across the stem is the growth point. I've found several references that say the corn's overall yeild won't be affected as long as the growth point wasn't killed. I guess it will set the harvest back a week or two.
