The US natives Aquilegia canadensis (eastern red columbine) and A. chrysantha (Texas gold columbine) do best for me so maybe you should give those a try. Here's Freesia alba. I got this from Plant Delights last fall and it's been growing in a pot on the deck. Since it's not really hardy here I put it in the garage whenever the temps got below the mid 20's but it wasn't too much trouble. The flowers are very fragrant! |
