Ok...let me first say my outspoken butt would chastise folks for letting kids use dogs as horses - I don't believe it's a good idea esp with hip issues etc. (notice please, Makwa is laying down) I've always stood firm that it's not just the dogs but the little ones that need to be educated right from wrong when living with each other. I truly believe that would alleviate many bites. That being said I also like to educate folks that WHEN raised correctly, even the breeds with the bad reps, can make wonderful family companions. So instead of correcting Chloe immediately - I grabbed the camera beside me and snapped the photo....not a good photo from a photography standpoint but to back what I said above - notice 50 lb Makwa continues chomping on his bone while Chloe (less then 1/2 his weight and despite knowing better) pretends he's a horse. Dont' get me wrong if Baby (my younger Rott) had come by him w/his bone he would've growled at her - I've heard him do it...but he, even at his young age, knows the difference between a toddler and another dog.
Makes you proud, doesn't it, Diane?? Your baby threw pups w/great temperaments!!!
