I bought a milkweed plant last year just for that reason. It grew tall and lanky. I went and looked at it just now, and it has one branch with flowers on top. That's the whole plant. Should I cut it back? Will it fill out on its own? How do you grow it? I thought it was an annual, but apparently not.

Here's a visitor from a few days ago. A Spicebush I think.
