I had such a nice surprise tonight. My son, who is an attorney in Chicago doesn't get to come home very often, but tonight there was a knock on my door, and there he stood with his hands full of take out. He was passing through the area, on his way elsewhere, but stopped to bring dinner for the two of us. We had a great visit. He does patent law and travels so often. Anyway, while here, he called his son to tell him goodnight, when Ethan found out he was here, then he had to talk with me. Finally after son left, my phone was ringing when I came back in and it was Ethan (4 years old) who said he forgot some things he needed to tell me. So we talked, made plans for his April visit, said good night and hung up. Phone rang again, Ethan again...he forgot to tell me something else, oh, it was a joke about a dinosaur. Anyway, this went on for about 5 phone calls. He calls me about once a week normally, but tonight I think he had snuck the phone into his room, and his mom didn't know....So I have been on the phone all night, but it sure was fun.
And that is the best for today.

You all sure have been busy with all your moving and planting. I have not accomplished much, still in the middle of the work on the couch. Son loved it upside down on the floor, but more than that he loved the newly painted rooms. But...I got a little reprimand for having done it myself. I think he thought I also had cleaned up the yard by myself, but I assured him I had help with that. He would not have done any of it himself, he is way too busy, and I wouldn't ask, but he would have hired someone to do it...and then he would have had a fight on his hands, which he knew all too well.

When I am on my last legs is the day they can hire somebody to do something that I can do myself. Stubborn old woman, yes, I am. That comes with age, I think.

So glad you had a good day, Mary, I know it was tough. I looked at my Daisy cat tonight, and realized she will be 5 next month. That startled me because I still think of her as a kitten.
Hope you all have a good rest of the evening. Mary, do you have a curfew tonight? It's Friday.
