My gloriosa lilies have done great in full blazing East Texas sun, with little attention. I had mine in a bed in the unshaded area of the yard.

They did not fry in the sun or change colors due to the sun's affect. However, there is natural variation of coloring among the blooms. some were more purply maroon red, while others were more orangy flame red.
