redchic01 wrote: Thanks Victor, I'll have to watch that show on Discovery channel. Mainly because the area that I live in was pretty much founded by it. I'm definitely not a logger. A sawyer yes, but that's the extent of it. I only fall trees if they are hazard trees, however, anything that falls down across a trail has to be removed by thew crews and I (see pics) It's even more interesting when we have to use a cross cut saw to do it. Schicken, heli-logging is definitely an interesting sight to see, that and balloon logging. Neither are done often here. Those helicopters are amazing in the amount of weight they can pick up and how to manuever it. Thanks Robin, I try to appreciate the height. I'm never really sure whether the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.... but, I'm used to it by now! Hopefully lime rickey will brighten up for you. Jen, pretty flower! Allison, awesome sweet potatoe vine! I've never seen one flower before. That's cool Karen, Yep... prescription classes count!! That's actually what my boss wears. He has his regularly prescription put into reinforced frames. Works great for him. And wedges are definitely a great thing to have. They're only a few dollars and they can save you a lot of work in manuevering the saw. great bonfire and pictures, what a pretty sunset. that's still a good size tree! That story sounds nasty. Bill, at least you know your wife cares! that's a good thing. I call the helmut a "brain bucket" that makes a heck of a lot more sense to me!! Yikes Scicci! That's a nasty story! however, it happens enough that when we are taking our saw safety classes, most of the stories given in the videos are like that one. The saw kicks back and diagonally up at the sawyer. The videos show the blood, muscle, whole nine yards, I'm sure to scare us into safety gear..... It works!! Fortunately your friend survived. But, a sawsall (zawzaw)?? Ok, that definitely would work!! That would also look funny. Can you take a picture of hubby cutting the firewood with one?!!! that would be great. so, most of the time my crew is sent out to clear trails, although sometimes rds. this is a rd. that goes to a trail and you can see the need for a sawyer. The trail looked just like the rd. I wish we could burn the debris This message was edited Feb 17, 2009 10:48 PM |
