Here's my favorite bromeliad- Quesnelia 'Tim Plowman' And here's the story behind it (this is a two for one special!): Just before Christmas 07, I did a search here on DG in the Products & Sources, zip code search, looking for nurseries in my area. Lo and behold, Michael's Bromeliads popped up, and wouldn't you know it, it's about a mile and a half from where I work. I was super happy, since one of my gardening friends loves broms and I wanted to get him a new one for his collection. I called and made an appt. and Michael gave me a tour of the greenhouses, what a treat. Very nice fellow. 'Tim Plowman' caught my eye right away, with those variegated leaves that look like they're getting ready for prom night- attacked by the curling iron! Of course I got one for my friend and one for me, Secret Santa, ya know! |
