One thing I've noticed, however, is that the chickadees seem to prefer eating from the ground than at the feeders. As long as there is food on the ground, they'll get it from there, and only when it runs out do they go to the feeders (or when they don't see the ground food if they're coming from another direction).

This isn't a great picture, but you can see the specs of the seed on the ground, and the chickadee looking around. Plants are nearby, but I was still surprised to see it so out in the open.
