OK, here's my story and the results so far:

The first bulbs I planted were the ones that had a flower bus nosing out; they were Moonlight, Jewel and Picotee. I planted them Oct. 21st. No reason for this particular date, I just mention it because the first to flower was Jewel, on Nov. 7th, on my nephew's b-day, so it took this one less than 3 weeks from planting to flower.

(By that time, the Picotee bulb didn't "move" at all, and when I checked it, it was soft and mushy. It is a strange thing, as all of them were watered in the same schedule, and it was planted in an unglazed pot, so it should have breathed just fine, and I checked all bulbs when they arrived, and all were perfect!)

In my hands, Jewel has a foot-long stalk. White flowers, greenish-yellow towards the throat. A slight scent (the first Amaryllis bulb of mine that has any scent), but nothing "crinum-like", nothing sweet. In the background is the stalk of one Moonlight, more than twice as tall...
