When i let the dog out, my yard is fenced, it didnt phase it a bit. THe bush where it was sitting is probably 60-80 feet behind my fenced yard. After i flew away, i went out side to take a few images.... plus to see if it were sitting having breakfast, but i could find no evidence of that. But, later it flew over head... so i came in to try and figure out what it was. i've come to the conclusion it was a female Northern Harrier .. at least i think so. I could not get a photo, as it was too far away. She was a very beautiful bird though. BUT - i did see a green parakeet ... which i have no idea if it will survive our winters. It was 10° when i woke up this morning. I know i saw the lil bird on Thanksgiving day... so i know it's been out there over a week now. It's been hanging out with the house Sparrows and Cardinals. Any comments on parakeets living outside in the dead of winter [cold winters] ? |
