I have had them going for about a month and so far so good. I don't have roots yet, but lots of large nubs on the stems. Hopefully, the roots will follow soon. The thing I like about this system is I can see what is going on and don't have to guess if the plant is rooting or not. I am going to attempt some hardwood cuttings in this unit this winter. These roses are from a rose garden in front of my offices with hundreds of roses. I just took cuttings of the ones I liked the most. I have had some problems with algae because of the clear tub allowing so much light in. I have just taken the cuttings out and rinsed them under a hard spray at the kitchen sink. It seems to keep it down for awhile. Perhaps it is slowing the rooting process, but it hasn't stopped it. |
