As soon as a fish is caught by one of the eagles the "chase" is on. Trying to focus on the eagle, with the fish, as they maneuver and dive through the air becomes difficult and presents a real challenge, at least for me. I miss an awful lot of opportunities.

There were almost an many photographers and birders as bald eagles. If you gave up your spot along the water it was soon taken by another photographer. People travel hundreds of miles to view these eagles. Fortunately, for me, I only live one hour away.

This is a not-so-good photo of the beginning of one of those chases but you will get the idea. You can actually still see some water movement under the eagle on the far right, with a fish, and in a split second several other eagles are in the chase.
