ViolaAnn wrote: Theresa, that sounds like quite a schedule. Mine, fortunately, ends around Dec. 5 with Come Sing Messiah! That's something I do every year and sets off the Christmas season in a wonderful way. About 800 people come with their own scores and sing. Audience is limited to the balcony - about 200. And they hire a small orchestra for it. What is missing in polish if more than made up in enthusiasm. Here's a pic of Tabea accepting the certificate that goes with the International Viola Society Silver Clef award from IVS President Michael Vidulich. There's a pic in the newsletter of her cracking up as Michael and Carlos tried to decide WHERE on her strapless dress to pin the clef. BTW, she was using a Mach I shoulder rest. She played: Schubert, Sonate in a-moll - Arpeggione Henze, Sonata for Viola and Piano (1979) Reger, Suite for Solo Viola op. 131d, No.2 Clarke, Sonata for Viola and Piano Best Clarke I've ever heard for sure and I have three recordings of the piece. |
