Not happy, gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr or should I say burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Temp: 34°F (1°C) Humidity: 64% Wind Speed: N 31 MPH G 38 Barometer: 29.91 in Dewpoint: 23°F Wind Chill: 20°F Victor, I didn't measure her, but at least 12' to 15' tall. She came through the night just fine. The guy we hired, Mark, who is standing next to her on the truck is 6'. He wanted to keep her for himself, so he gave her extra love. This is the most we ever spent for a tree even at half price. I hope 'Nellie' likes it here. That is also the name of one of our dogs too. She is a parthenocarpic plant, but I might try to find a little male to go with her in the spring. The nurseryman had her for over a year and though she was in perfect shape, he wanted her sold, so she would get planted this fall as he loved her too. The rest of the 1/2 price stuff was mostly things that were in not so special or misshapen. She was the only one of these that he had and certainly the biggest holly at the nursery. I didn't even stop as we saw her to look at the price but certainly halted to admire her wistfully, as I knew the price would be more than I wanted to spend, but DH went back and looked and said she would be twice the money but 4 times the tree. Made sense. She is going to cost me a tad more as there is a spot behind her that needs a big Viburnum to complete the picture. Not sure which one yet. I am going to get out Mr.Dirr. Then get out my shovel. Patti |
