The only things I store are the elephant ears, callas & dahlias (which I dig up), the tuber rose & canna (stay in their pots). They over winter in Mom's basement (she lives next door to me).
I bring in the hibiscus & take coleus cuttings.
The rest of the perennials stay out, in their pots.
I try to limit my perennials to ones that are hardy for my zone. I don't have space - or light - to keep things. During the winter months I get direct sunlight through 1 window... for about 1/2 hour. That's it. Come April, I'll start getting sun through the kitchen & office west facing windows. In the winter, the sun is too low & Mom's house blocks it.
The 2 biggest windows (MBR & LR) both face north, so no sun.

All the pots just get moved to the sides & back to leave room for the bird feeders.
