On 3/2/07, I took a number of photos of a Pied Crow at Southwest Area Park (SWAP) in Baltimore Highlands. Most, if not all U.S. Pied Crows are captured birds that have escaped from captivity. I was fortunate enough to get a photograph with a metal ring around his leg. Nonetheless, it was an unusual sighting and he does hang around with the other crows. He travels around quite a bit. Last time I heard of him he was seen at the corner of Hammonds Lane and Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park, earlier this year. Nonetheless, it is a challenge to find him and then get a photograph. Good luck !!! Never know, next time you see him, he could be in your backyard. Note the metal hook on his leg ..... |
