They love the lantana, the coneflowers, the Hot Lips Salvia, the zinnias, the Red Dragon Persicaria--just about anything that blooms--LOL EF, the Hot Lips Salvia is in full sun all day except for the very early morning sun. Once the sunlight comes over the fence, it is non-stop sun all day on that flower bed. I have two of the Hot Lips and they have both flowered all summer and continue to flower. The one in the photo above was given to me this past spring and was just about 3 inches tall at the time. As you can see, it has grown tremendously. The bed that the Hot Lips are planted in is a lasagna bed that my DH and I made last autumn. It has a lot of horse manure in it, which is why, I am sure, that the plants in that bed have done so well! LOL Here's a pic showing the abundance of skippers in my flower bed. |
