I think they do extend energy to the buds/blooms by actually shedding leaves... the leaves turn yellow and fall away because the energy is going to the bloom... the Versi (tied to the retaining wall on the right) is my ugly girl right now... altho I should have gotten closer to see the ugliness.... it's not a pretty pic, but it's where the brug beauty is for me right now.. still enjoying them.
