My friend has a friend like that, she says they're best friends but are they really? I don't want to say anything out of turn, but friendship is always a shared experience. All of her money is going into that new SUV and the gas for it, and whatever shopping she does to keep her half way happy. Just because someones life is in turmoil doesn't mean that the friends on the other end should be treated like crap, or used. Don't let anyone run you into the ground, I did that once and it will never happen again. I would just not do so many things with her. For example, say you go to dinner every other week together and she wants you to pay for it. Change it to once a month, if it continues change it to once every 6 weeks, and so on, she'll get the drift and maybe start paying for herself in the mean time. It's not your fault she has choose to live beyond her means.
