I had already become an avid fan of his photos, so it was no surprise to see him hunkered down, taking such interest in a tiny (tiny) flower. It was such a delight seeing him and his lovely wife Barbara at our RU's in TX and a "nursery date" in Austin. He lived on the coast, so every time a hurricane threatened we were concerned about him and Barbara. I was wondering about him when Gustav threatened recently, and was stunned to hear of his death.
