And where was it layed you might ask? My genious chicken got it in the nesting box on her first try. They go used to sleeping on the perch, and two nights ago I started thinking the time was close, so I took one of the pots out (one had not originally been enough to force them out) and voila....a present for me. Now the question remains who layed it. I have one Blue Andalusian, one Amauracauna, one Black Jersey Giant, and one Marans. The first two are out because of egg color, and I have a difficult time believing that the first egg came from the exactly 5 months old Jersey Giant, so could it be Schnitzel the Marans egg? Catscan, it it time for Schnitzel to start laying? I'm not sure of her exact age. And could her first egg be light brown? It has a brown smudge on it, but I can't tell if it is pigment or blood.

I'm so happy I could cry......
