Its one I've been working on an ID for, I think I now know which one it is but I'm going to hold off on that call until I see a few more of them bloom. The only reason I noticed it was blooming was because I was putting the sprinkler out there since that bed has had no water in 3 weeks. I was helping my brother pack his pickup truck up to go home to Groves, Texas--he was evacuating over here (they did not get but about 9 drops of rain out of Gustove either--and you can throw a stone across the Neches river, which runs next to his house, and hit Louisiana). I am glad he came though, was a very nice visit and I sent him home with a bunch of bulbs and Louisiana Iris to grow out for me. He lives in one of the houses my dad had when he was still alive. That will make the 3rd different location for my growing fields--that should help thwart the thieves in Texas that think its OK to dig bulbs out of graveyards, old homesteads (they seemingly forget that property actually belongs to someone), and even off people's property they know that people live on. I've never had a problem with that myself but 2 of my other growing fields are located on gun dealers property. That might be why--lol. But my two other friends that own BIG bulb companies in Texas have had a lot of problems with thieves. Not the greatest pics but I was also trying to adjust the water and it was getting late in the morning. Best shots are always early in the morning (and I'm never up then--lol) or late evening.
