wrote: Sally,, the late freeze could definitely be your culprit. Many a hydrangea bloom has been ruined due to a late freeze. Other than that, most people lack blooms either because of pruning or because the shrub doesn't get enough sun. Now, I made an error on the Jogasaki. It's worse than I thought. I don't even know where I planted it. The one that didn't bloom (probably due to not enough light) is actually 'Izu no hana'. I remember that I moved Jogasaki because it was going to be way too big for the place I had it planted. Now, if I could just locate it. I generally label all of my hydrangeas and that one is no exception. I'm sure I'll find it but it does make me feel just a bit crazy. Outta, that garden area looks fabulous!! Especially as it's the first season! You did so well! Lots of 'high fives' and slaps on the back for you. Here is a photo of one of my oldest lacecaps. NOID. I love the leaves from the new oakleaf hydrangea I put in called 'Little Honey'. Love that color combo! |
