This spider went from spinning his/her huge web between houses for about two weeks, to my front picture window. (fantastic, beautiful, huge webs) I really didn't want to hurt it because the webs were so fascinating, but it was getting closer to the front door every day and I looked all over the internet to id it, but in the absence of an id, I had to do what I had to do. We don't have any outright poisonous spiders here that I know of, but my daughter got a pretty nasty bite the other day while she was sleeping, so I wasn't taking any chances.

This guy/gal when standing upright was a smidge smaller than a half dollar coin. I think you can see that the forelegs were red, closest to the body and the other legs were bright yellow and blackish grey stripes.

Any ideas on what it might be? It's not like any wolf spider I've ever seen and definately not a recluse.
