Insect and Spider Identification: CLOSED: Please Identify This Spider, 1 by SoCalMark

I recently moved into a new house (Southern California) with a great pine tree out front, unbeknown to me its full of these spiders. They seem to come out at night and spin very dense webs usually rooted in many places with one of the roots commonly touching areas where we pass so many hands are waived as we make our way out of the house. They range in size from half inch to about a full inch, the one pictured is the biggest and fattest I have seen to date.

I just want to know whether they are or not dangerous because its only a matter of time until one lands on my face. Sorry for the crappy photos.
