crested,
i can't wait till NY, i hope we get to meet each other while we r there! i heard about the other NY show do u know where i can find more details for it?

jan,
look up american silkie bantam club on yahoo search they have a website and they have all the silkie standards written there for each color. the blue should be earlobs, the ones under beaks r called waddles so u have a nonbearded and they should be mulberry colored not red. combs on top of beak should be small mulberry walnut comb(mulberry should look like a black to dark purple). my girls above r bearded instead of waddles under neath they have feathers that look like beards. silkies for show get judged by the standard of perfection for aba/apa.

i can't find a pic of my nonbearded roos, i don't have many that have waddles but here is a pic of axel for example he is one of my young bearded roos to show u how the color and comb should be. only thing i don't like about him is his middle toe feathering he could loose points for it or it could count as a DQ(disqualification) for him. if there is a silkie with same quality in show against him and the other has better foot feathering then they would take a higher winning he'd get docked for foot feathers if that makes sence. he does have exhibition bloodline but he is what i call breeder quality. they r judged by comb, waddles, crests, color, feathering, type all sorts of things.

he is gorgous and has alot to offer my breeding program with him mated to my hattrick girls or other exhibition girls he should make some real nice babies with way better foot feathering who could be show potential babies.

i raise- buff, white, blue, splash and and partridge.
