Some smart soul came up with a "fake" stone recipe to make those planters out of, and lots of people are doing them... they have a real rustic look. I'm just molding some simple projects right now to get a feel for it, but eventually we're going to make some boulders and rocks for our Tropical garden ... yes, and some planting troughs too. It's not a process for the impatient though... it takes months to cure properly.
Plants really love this stuff, it hold moisture, and lets the roots breath. Here's a pic of my very first pot I poured... it's still living in plastic, but I can unwrap it next Monday to let the weather finish it's curing process.
