What surprised me was that he usually hits the road whenever I get near, but today, I looked up and there he was lounging ON the leaves of my Wild Mustang Daylily just a foot away from where I was working. There was also an enormous amount of construction happening on the front porch nearby with loud noise and much vibration from the table saw. I guess he was doing his Wild Mustang impression for me.....fearless! Since I know he isn't poisonous or aggressive, I would rather have him chilling where I can see him than slithering around the plants I'm working around. It's the surprise factor I don't like! He did offer a few comments on a couple of the lily of the valley plants I was trying to make presentable. The heavy rain bent a couple of stems and I was debating whether to leave them home. He "wagged" at me, so I put them in the car anyway since their root structure should send out some more leaves just as soon as they are in the ground......I think. LOL |
