My juvie Yellow Crowned Night Heron can now fly a bit. It has been dashing into the cat tails as I approach so this is the first pics I have of this bird. Most years I have Little Blues feeding at my pond, but this year the county decided to clear brush near the bayou and destroyed their nest. Some of the "brush" they destroyed were 60 to 70 foot tall Ash trees. We didn't even know they were going to do this until after it was done. I think they plan to channelize the bayou which will destroy most of our wildlife areas.
