I get so many local birds at that feeder several times a day, plus the squirrels and fruit rats. I caught one of the baby rats in my hand the other day. Dumped him (unharmed) over the privacy fence. (I don't kill anything but wasps and fire ants. Also aphids and Milkweed beetles. LOL!) I have been hearing the owls at night again. The rat's days are numbered now due to the owls and the local hawk. We got hit by lightning earlier in the week. I have one of those small resin waterfall ponds in one of the flower beds. The surge blew my old pump. I have the trellis with 2 of Antoinette's Blue Jishi X Ten Ten vines growing in a container. When I moved the container to get to the electrical cord for the pump, I accidentally severed one of the vines. I was sick about it. It has tons of buds on it as well as seed pods, so I stuck the end in water and am hoping to get some seeds despite my error. Here is the poor vine in water. It had several blooms this morning! LOL! It's been in water all week. I have my fingers crossed that the seed pods mature for collecting! |
