JD - yes, some light is showing - not only all around the walls but at the end of the tunnel as well....as of the last conference a few minutes ago, it seems that we are hopefully at the end of the surprises. We now have to add to the project the replacement of a cross-beam under the center of our guest room. With any luck, that's the end of the unknowns. On an upnote, in the birthing room that will be DH's office, they discovered some very thick and very cool old whitewashed paneling behind the plaster etc.. So my DH knocked out all of the plaster in the room and let it fall right down into the open hole under what will be the floor when the room is put back together. Some of the wall boards are about 18 inches wide. Those boards are also behind the (now damaged) plaster in the guest room, so we think we'll knock out the plaster in that room too and expose the wide wall boards. There's always a positive if you look hard enough. This photo shows the thick paneling on the new window wall.

Another positive is that the huge bone is no one I know. LOL The consensus is that it is an oxen bone from the 18th century. We have the original ox bow that was in our carriage shed suspended from the high beams in our family room. It is very cool.

We had a few drops of rain when I was planting a couple of dahlias up in my veggie garden area. Now it is just cool and cloudy. Good weather for tearing down a house board by board.
