Oh, by the way, when I left for work this morning at 6:30 the hummingbird was right outside the door! He hovered in mid-air for a second and then zoomed toward my neighbor's house. My grandma loves hummingbirds and collects things with them on it (great-grandma collected owls, we're a bird family I guess). Dad told her we had a hummingbird and she asked if we had feeders and he told her no, just the porterweed. I really prefer to create a natural habitat if I can. I know feeders are good in some of the cooler climes as a "last resort" for stragglers, but I feel like in Florida there's always something blooming so I should just try and provide a wide array of food.
