This rose, I have no idea what it is...but, it is virtually indestructible. When I first got the house, this was in the front yard, and I hated it. Chainsaw, RoundUp, Brush b gone, post hole digger, saw, shovel after shovel, gasoline, 1 gallon of vinegar, alcohol, black plastic, stump rot...NOTHING, absolutely nothing would kill this rose. At one point, I had a chain around the main trunk (or so I thought) put said chain on my pick up, and drove away, ripped about 4' or so of root and trunk out. It's still here. It gets about 3' high or so, and about that around...and flowers from now until frost. Japanese beatles, not a problem, aphids, not a problem...other bugs, not a problem...and it's never had black spot...lol. The flowers are about 2" around, and pretty much look like the pic once they open for a few days to a week...does anyone have any idea? My aunt, who's uncle (and his family) owned the home, told me that he planted this rose when he was a child, so it has to be atleast 65-75 years old.
